“Success is not a right or a gift it is a privileged opportunity that waits on the other side of tremendous effort and sacrifice. If you want it, pay the price.” J Loren Norris “Whether your passion is to make it to the pros from a D1 college or to run a global sales company or to rule the free world, if you find yourself distracted, the dividing of your attention will reduce or eliminate the power of your focus to accomplish your goals.” J Loren Norris “Awareness and trust are the key difference between being helped and being had.” “If I, you, we, do not take RESPONSIBILITY as a core value, we surrender the power to lead our own lives! To whom you give the blame, the credit, the authority, you give the power to decide. Taking personal responsibility for your life and outcome is the single most impactful decision you will ever make.” J Loren Norris “Whatever you have right now in the way of accomplishments, possessions, accolades, you must be willing to let them go if you want to grow to the next level of opportunity. One cannot grasp the next trapeze whilst clinging to the current one. Leadership demands the core value of sacrifice.” J Loren Norris “At every level of our lives OPPORTUNITY distractions derail us. Sometimes that’s a GREAT thing because distractions allow us to reduce stress, refocus and refresh. Sometimes though, distractions alter the course of our future, destroy hope and prevent us from fulfilling our destiny.” J Loren Norris “What is the saturation point of attention? When is too much LIVE, too much to care about? Will social media reach the point of “din” rather than a prominant voice? Will there become a time that so many voices clambering to be heard will become irrelevant background noise? What is the tipping point of online marketing? When everyone is standing on the same “stump” and yelling for attention, will they all be “crying wolf” in unison?” J Loren Norris “If chivalry means manipulation, dominating, abusing, taking advantage of others, then it should be “dead”. If the meaning of chivalry is exercising curtesy and politeness and friendliness with nothing to gain but becoming a better human - LONG LIVE CHIVALRY!” J Loren Norris “Many scientists will tell you the human mind never really forgets anything. The ability to recall the details, emotion and value of an idea or event requires keeping detailed notes and intentional reflection. That’s why everyone should journal.” J Loren Norris “At some point you will need to contend with their claim to your success. IF THEY HAVE been a great mentor and contributor to your growth, GIVE THEM THE HONOR AND CREDIT for that. If they have not, be prepared to be gracious and let them have the tiny sparkles they steal from you.” J Loren Norris
“Persistence eventually says to the NAY SAYERS, either you’re with me or you’re against me. I have no space in my life for a peanut gallery of cackling observers. Contribute to my success or find someone else to harass.” J Loren Norris “Concealing the details of your story from the prying eyes of social media is critical, but handling the emotional impact of the same story is a BIG BIG DEAL and you need someone you can trust to process through those stories.” J Loren Norris #storypower “When young leaders with the same hubris based courage do not heed the admonishment of their advisors HEARTBREAK ABOUNDS! Along with lost opportunity, lost money, lost time and possibly lost freedom. Not every great risk is followed by great reward!” J Loren Norris “More opportunities slip by without a decision to act on them than are lost any other way. Sure, you may get it wrong from time to time. You may need to course correct and redouble your efforts. But it is still more likely that you will lose the opportunity altogether by doing nothing, by waiting to decide and failing to act.“ J Loren Norris "If these traits are present in your life, you will be respectful and respected as a leader. If they are not, there is no better time to start than now." J Loren Norris "If you have served as I have served THANK YOU. Thank you for your willingness to serve, your heart to serve and your sacrifice to serve." ~ J Loren Norris "Like going to the gym, I provide the content of #LeadingLeadersPodcast on a daily basis because I believe in the deeper value of consistency and repetition. I would like to know if there are any persons paying any attention to this exercise..." J Loren Norris "For whatever reason they question their leaders, the number one tool is THE LEADER’S PAST." J Loren Norris "Leaders especially must be SELF AWARE enough to know if they have slipped into these 3 TOXIC habits and correct them immediately." J Loren Norris "In this day of digital information way too many bits of information are at risk of “hijack” and discretion is a must. Yet, even still, being elusive and coy with your team could cost you the trust of those closest to you." "The challenge for both sides is the idea of "getting what they deserve." Both parties come expecting a little more from the other. How often have you felt like you've done more than you were paid for? How often have you paid for a service or product and felt like you paid way too much for it or got less than you paid for?" WHAT’S THE DANGER OF AN ECHO CHAMBER? Watch the video to understand the damage it can present to your leadership. No one likes to be “wrong”. No one feels better about themselves when EVERYONE DISAGREES. No one wants to stand out because they think and speak differently from everyone around them. Whether it’s your accent or your ideology, life is just more comfortable when everyone around you seems to agree. When you’re in a leadership role, you have more power to cause this to happen, even unintentionally and even to your own demise. Because no one wants to be singled out for thinking differently, we all “mirror” someone in our life. Children mirror parents. Pets in the same household mirror each other. Gang members mirror each other. Politicians, large companies and even solopreneurs can run into this phenomenon. If you are a leader, you influence people around you, as you should. However, since they tend to mirror you and they want to please you, you are in danger of being surrounded by yourself. If you are not cautious, you will find yourself in an echo chamber. Watch the video to understand why that is dangerous at any level of leadership. From passive aggressive statements and veiled accusations to flat out deceptive emotional manipulations. It happens in families where children are grown. It happens between teens. It happens in the office. It happens with weak and insecure leaders. When we feel like the last tool we have to “get our own way” or to control/ predict our outcomes rests is using a GUILT TRIP, we really need to check ourselves. I am guessing most of us recognize such behavior in others long before we recognize it in ourselves. The power of a good leadership assessment tool like the 360 review will uncover some of the blind spots we can’t see, or won’t see. If you have ever heard whispers, rumors or direct accusations of yourself using manipulative behavior, it’s time to get real. Not only is such behavior destructive to your team, it will scar your professional reputation and the level of your influence for years to come. Leaders need to be focused on the needs of others and one way to do that is to focus on being better leaders and not using emotionally abusive pry bars to get results. Rejection is how you feel when the thoughts of others influence your thoughts of yourself.
It is the FEAR OF REJECTION which becomes an attitude in the way of our destiny. It influences our decision making, relationship building, risk taking and day to day confidence or resolve. "Your destiny could be stolen from you by the fear of rejection whether the actual rejection is real or imagined." J Loren Norris The same is true of those you love and those you lead. They crave and need your acceptance. They need to know that even if they fail miserably you still support their effort and encourage the best intent in them. Your words of positivity and your loaned belief could be the very asset they need to push past the fear and find their greatest dreams realized. Don’t let rejection derail your dreams, your destiny or the destiny of those you lead. Insuperable Vision Workshop - Audio Download with worksheets Day after day I meet people who are struggling just to make ends meet. They are adrift in this vast sea of humanity holding on to their job, their family, their home, and their car with all they've got. They see their life experiences and education as the last hope to find their purpose and identity. They gather, fill and stuff all the money they can into every opportune investment. Yet they are empty, frustrated, angry and just plain fed up. We have all experienced that moment; when we find yourself stuck in traffic, yelling at random strangers to do what they wish they could... but can't... GO! The idea that life can be better than it is today is like the flame of a candle fighting for all its worth to stand against the tempest. We all want a better life. Even when life is good, we want more. That idea, that flame, is the hope that lives in the hearts and minds of all of us. Should that flame be extinguished, hope itself may well go with it. It is the rut of hopelessness that traps many would be shining stars and buries that glow from the sight of the world. It is the rut of hopelessness that extinguishes that flame. Lives that would have been a beacon to the wandering are lost at sea themselves. Inspirations of success that would have been the voices crying out to all who suffer are hidden away in their own stale lives, they cannot share who they are or what the world needs from them. It is my passion to help you find your purpose. I want to see you become successful, but more than that to be free! Without vision people perish. Without vision, we seem to be lost, mind numb robots following the herd into the abyss that is everyday life. We do not live intentionally without a vision for our future. We do not live passionately without a vision for our future. We do not live productively without a vision for our future. We certainly cannot lead without a vision for our future and a vision for the future of those we lead. This audio course will inspire and instruct you to create a vision which will become a significant driving force in your life. Author
