"Your brand name should be associated with good citizenship, good service, good quality, good products, and good will in the community. It should not be determined by the opinions of haters who love your product and service but hate your world view." J Loren Norris
NAME IS A MANIFESTATION OF CHARACTER, DOES YOUR BRAND NAME LINE UP?
NAME - AUTHORITY - BRAND - MANIFESTATION OF CHARACTER - these are by definition interchangeable.
Color schemes, logos, tag lines, these are PR which should express and enhance your brand but they are NOT YOUR BRAND!
If you are not as focused in the actions of your business brand, your name could be Nike or your name could be mud. Look at the “smear campaign” launched against the brand names of Chick-fil-A and The Salvation Army.
They have been accused of bigotry, hatred, bias, discrimination and more. Thus far, there have been no reports of action taken by Chick-fil-A or anyone associated with the company to justify such name calling, but the name callers don’t need facts, just accusations. The power of a damaged name impacts brand reputation and eventually bottom line.
Your brand name should be associated with good citizenship, good service, good quality, good products, and good will in the community. It should not be determined by the opinions of haters who love your product and service but hate your world view.
There may never be “justice” for haters who destroy the life work of someone who has devoted their life to build a brand, do good in their community, provide jobs, provide opportunity and grow the economy.
If you want to have a good brand, a good name, a good reputation, if you want to be a trusted authority in your industry:
