TAINTED OBSERVATIONS
Most people trust their own first hand experiences and observations over any other data or input. This results in firmly held beliefs which are nearly impossible to challenge or change because they are the observations of the holder. The real challenge occurs when someone who understands the power of linguistics provides just enough of the wrong information for a conclusion to be drawn through confirmation bias.

You may have seen it with your own eyes, heard it with your own ears, actually been there when it happened, but how can you be certain what you witnessed wasn't designed to create a predicted and contrived assumption?

FAULTY ASSUMPTIONS
Assumptions sometimes get a bad wrap because we all know what happens when we assume. However, the ability to assume as an education guess or a hypotheses is a skilled to be desired, to be honed and to be mastered. The problem is when you encounter the clever person who knows how to manipulate the data you are receiving and observing until the assumptions you own are controlled and directed to be perceived as your own, but they are in no way yours originally.

POOR DECISIONS
Yes, when our powers of observation have been messed with and our assumptions predictably poised for us, we tend to make decisions based on "the best information we had at the time" even if that information was intentionally spoon fed misinformation. We are concerned about "doing our homework", "getting to the bottom of it", "confirming the research" before we speak out or share. What we tend to miss is the level and extent to which those who have manipulation in mind will go to cause you to believe a lie then proclaim it as truth with all your passion and ability. The decisions which follow faulty assumptions based on such malicious misleading can be disastrous on a personal, familial, local, community and even global scale.

Leaders must be aware of the tactics deployed by manipulators and take every possible measure to offset this misleading data.
